Molester at Child Centre Remanded for Abuse

The Maharagama Police officers have arrested an officer of a child development center in Maharagama for sexually abusing a 12-year-old boy. 

A senior officer of the Maharagama Police stated that the suspect was brought before the Gangodawila Magistrate’s Court and remanded until May 10.

Police say that the victim child had been referred to this center by the child probation department.

In the investigation, it has been found that this officer came to work in this center in December 2022. The police say that this child was molested by him between the date of his arrival and April 30.

Police say that after this child informed the warden about this, she informed the governing body about this and complained to the police and accordingly the investigation was conducted and the suspect was arrested. Also it has been revealed during investigations that this person has tried to molest several other children as well.
