Kim and Nick knew that Greece was the perfect place to have their modern destination wedding. “Nick is Greek and grew up spending his summers in Greece with his family. I am American but have always loved Greece, having been five times on my own before meeting Nick!”, the bride shared with us and continues: “Nick had always dreamed of getting married in Greece and when we decided on a destination wedding, nowhere else was even considered. The stunning sunsets, the loving and welcoming culture as well as our own love of the country made it the perfect destination!”

“We were on vacation in the north of Greece with Nick’s whole family, staying at his yiayia’s house which we both love. After lunch on our first day, I was looking out over the mountains, admiring the incredible view and Nick came up to take a photo. He told me that this was his favorite place in the whole world and suddenly dropped to one knee with his whole family watching, shocking the majority of them! I couldn’t believe it and could not stop crying! It was absolutely gorgeous, absolutely perfect and the definitely the best day of our lives up to that point!”

“My wedding bouquet had peonies! I am so lucky they are in season in June as they are my favorite- plush and delicate!”

“The ceremony took place in Mykonos, at a small chapel called Agios Konstantinos. The chapel shares a name with Nick’s late father and as soon as we found it, we knew he would be there with us and it was meant to be!”

“The wedding style was modern, minimalism. We chose white and gold as our colors, accented with mirrored surfaces to catch the sunset and the candlelight. We really wanted simple elegance and wanted the setting to speak for itself. When the sparkling Aegean Sea is your backdrop, there isn’t much more you need to do!”

“The best moment of our destination wedding was taking our first steps as Mr. & Mrs! We had a traditional Greek Orthodox ceremony and when we were crowned as man and wife and took our first steps around the alter together, it was an unbelievable feeling! Our guests showered us with rice for fertility and prosperity and so that we will grow old together. It truly was the happiest and best moment of our lives!”
