A motorcyclist had been killed when two motorbikes hit at the Senanayake junction in Borella. One motorcycle, which was ridden by a Police Inspector attached to the Special Task Force, had passed the junction disregarding traffic lights and hit another motorcycle, which was moving in the other direction.
The deceased has been identified as Ajith Bandula (48), a hospital staff assistant of the Colombo National Hospital and a resident of Kahantota, Malabe. The accident occurred around 6am on Tuesday. The STF officer, who also sustained serious injuries, had been admitted to the ICU of the Colombo National Hospital.Both motorcycles were heavily damaged.
