We all enjoyed a little "Favorite Things" party, where we each brought 3 of our favorite 'one' thing to share with the group. In exchange, we all went home with 3 NEW favorite things!
We each brought a little snack to share. I brought a simple pumpernickel bread square with an onion & chive cream spread, topped with a thin radish slice. They would have been MUCH better with a cucumber slice, but oh well! There were so many other great food items- ah hem... melissa's cookie dough dip & graham crackers!
While we snacked we went around the table introducing ourselves (and our blogs) and then moved on to "presenting" our Favorite Thing. I brought a two part Favorite Thing; Mascara & a "Chan Fan"
I took home a Caribou card from melissa @ i carry your heart, a mini gift bag w/ less stress lotion, baby lips chapstick & cadbury mini eggs this little gift bag was appropriate presented as a 'Crack-Pack' from Lindsey @ Life on Countryside & another mascara to try along with a lash brush from Syndal @ Synfully Delicious. I love it all- thank you girls!
After food, stories and picking out favorite things we spent appropriately 3 hours (kidding maybe an hour!) finding the perfect lighting, background and placement for a MNBloggers group photo. Thankfully Caroline's camera captured the flawless banner held up for display atop the gym bleachers.
Speaking of Caroline- I just had to get a picture of the cutest little Mommies-to-be! Caroline is expecting a baby in Sept. While she doesn't yet know the baby's gender, I am putting my vote in for a GIRL! Bridget, who is also expecting- is due in June and she knows that she is have a BOY! Aren't they just the cutest!?
NOT lovin' the bad lighting, sorry ladies!]
After our meetup, those who had other evening plans parted ways and the rest of us found our way to Calhoun Square in Uptown for a couple of drinks, more laughs and MORE stories! I love that I could spend HOURS hanging out with these girls, but had to end the night early as I had plans to meet up with Aaron & Avrie at a friend's birthday in Blaine.
While successfully finding my way out of Minneapolis, Aaron informed me that him and AV were already headed home- it was getting late. When I got home he told me that I didn't HAVE to meet him & I could have stayed- why I outta.... JK reRUBlic serves HUGE glasses of wine- so I was OK with leaving over half a glass for melissa to finish up! I found myself altering my route home and hit up a McD's drive-thru for a good ol' shamrock shake! I got home in time to share fun stories of the night with Aaron after putting my little girl to bed.
Aaron just LOVES hearing all about my, what he calls, "imaginary friends" and I LOVE having these so called imaginary friends. I really couldn't imagine most of my days without them- their stories, their truths, their support, I love it all!
Thank you again D & L for hosting & organizing a fun afternoon of Favorite Things! This lovely little party was organized by the amazing; Lauren [aka Lo] & Dawn [aka dawn Farmington]!
