The best part about the end of the year is catching up on things you missed or that you didn’t listen to as closely as you should have. The amount of astounding discoveries that are made with only a few weeks left in the year are always enough to keep you full of music for the winter. One of those magical late discoveries is Mitski. With a dexterity like a gymnast and those fuzz alt-rock guitars that are (thankfully) coming back into fashion, it’s easy to see why this Brooklyn band started blowing out of our speakers nonstop since the moment we heard it. The whole album, Bury Me at Makeout Creek, is a fantastic listen, but the lead single, “Townie”, is definitely one of the highlights and the track that we come back to time and time again. Check out “Townie” above and make sure to head over to Bandcamp to get the whole record. You won’t regret it, we promise.
