The film producer Upasana Singh on Thursday moved a local court against Miss Universe Harnaaz Sandhu, accused him of not respecting the agreement signed for the promotion of the Punjabi film. Singh filed a civil lawsuit at the Chandigarh District Court, seeking compensation for alleged contract violations by Sandhu, who played the advantage in his Bai Ji Kuttange.”I gave Harnaaz the opportunity to act in the film Bai Ji Kuttange. Not only this, I also made Yaara Diyan Poo Baran where Harnaaz was also a female hero,” he told reporters outside the court.
The producer claims that Sandhu, who was crowned by Miss Universe 2021, must make him available directly and almost for film promotion based on agreements with Santosh Entertainment Studio LLP. But he has refused to give a date for film promotion, said Singh. There were no direct comments by Sandhu on Singh’s accusations.
“I gave him the opportunity at that time when he was not Miss Universe,” Singh said. “I spent a lot of money on this film. This is not a small budget movie.” He claimed he had to postpone the release of the film from May 27 to August 19.Dev Kharoud and Gurpreet Ghuggi have acted at Bai Ji Kuttange, directed by Smeep Kang.
Harnaaz Sandhu was named Miss Universe last December at an event held in Israel. Only two other Indians, actor Sushmita Sen in 1994 and Lara Dutta in 2000, won the previous title.
