REN Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask £30Bumble and Bumble Texture Cream - £21.50Rimmel Apocalips Lip Laquer in "Apocalyptic" - £5.99Revlon Colourstay Nail Enamel in "Bare Bones" - £7.99
I can't believe it's been nearly a month since my last post - the time has flown! Already we're in February - an exciting month for me as it involves birthday celebrations - yayyyy :) however, it's scary where the year is disappearing to!
Obviously as my lack of recent posts suggests, I haven't managed to stick to many of the blogging new years resolutions that I made which I'm feeling quite annoyed at myself for. The main reason for this though has been the fact that I've started a new job recently, between which I barely have enough time to eat and sleep never mind blog - not helped either, by the lengthy commute it involves each day. Good news though, is that I'm really enjoying what I'm doing - the people I work with are lovely and I'm gaining some fab experience in my chosen field - so really can't complain! :)
This week meant my first pay check going through though and ohhhh boy did I find time to indulge in a little retail therapy. These are just a couple of the beauty related bits that I picked up - I thought I'd save the clothes and accessories for a separate post. Hope you enjoy!
Everything that I treated myself to, I've had my eye on for quite a while now - especially the REN Glycolactic mask - though until this point I haven't really been able to justify spending £30 on it so have stuck to some of the cheaper alternatives. I'm really looking forward to giving it a go tonight in a bit of a Sunday night pamper sesh though, so I shall report back once I've done so! The girl in Space NK that served me was - as they always seem to be in there - super helpful and also gave me a little sample of the T-zone balancing day fluid to try - something I am dreading falling in love with in-case I have to go out and purchase the full size! Still, I'm excited to try it.
If you follow my blog on a regular basis, you'll know that I like to wear my hair a little "roughed up" as I like to refer to it. If I style it too sleek then it tends to just stick to my head and look horrendous, so I also picked up the much talked about Bumble and Bumble texture cream to see whether it would aid me in this process. Again, reviews to come :)
Then finally, I treated myself to a couple of drugstore products that I'd seen reviewed recently by the lovely Estee over at Essie-Button - a lady whose recommendations I always seem to adhere to and am never disappointed with - these products being no exception. Despite thinking the Rimmel Apocalips lip laquers may have been a little over-hyped I decided to take the plunge and try this one out in the shade "Apocalyptic" anyway and WOW! The color pay off is superb, I love the finish and the fact that it is so long lasting - in fact I think they may be my new favorite lip product.
Finally, I wanted to invest in a pretty neutral shade for my nails that would be suitable for wear in the office, so thought I would give "Bare Bones" by Revlon a try. I've actually never tried any of their polishes before, despite hearing so many good things, and so far so good. It's a beautiful, understated shade - I only applied it last night so I'll hold off on mentioning it's longevity just yet, though from what I've heard it's nothing that I need to be concerned about. All in all therefore, pleased as punch with my purchases!
Going to try my very best from now on to post at least two or three times a week (time permitting). I'm sure once I get into a steady routine I'll find myself a lot less tired and with a few more hours to play with!
Until then though - what beauty bits 'n' bobs are you planning to treat yourself to come payday? Anything I should be keeping an eye out for?TTFN
