how to make milagu kuzhambu:

  1. Heat a wok, add 1 tsp of sesame oil, roast channa dal, coriander seeds, and raw rice. Saute till the dal roast well.
  2. Add red chilies, curry leaves and garlic flakes to it. Saute for a minute and transfer to a plate. Cool them well. Grind to a fine paste.
  3. Soak gooseberry size tamarind in water along with required salt. After 10 mins squeeze and extract the juice.
  4. To make kuzhambu, heat a wok, add ¼ cup of sesame oil, season with mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds and cumin seeds
  5. Then add curry leaves and garlic flakes. Saute till the garlic slightly changes its color.
  6. Add tamarind water and grounded paste.
  7. Let the kuzhambu boil until it becomes thick and oil floats on top.
  8. Once done, turn off the flame and serve with hot rice.
