Midweek Flare-o-drama

Styling these flared leg denim would be difficult- " I had no clue !"  They were actually a lot harder to style than I had thought, coz :  a) they are high waist b) they are flared at the bottom and skinny at the thigh, which makes my slim thighs look like a stick ;) c) it was a hot hot day when I decided to wear em d) they wouldn't pair with any shoes in my shoe closet
Anyways, after an hour of trials and a heap of clothes/jackets/accessories sitting on my bed, I came up with this sartorial concoction- a boxy pair of jeans with a boxier stripes top. If you can recollect, last week I was talking about pairing boxy with boxy ( original post here ), this look happens to be just another example of that easy-breezy boxy style. To make the loose-fitting top more shapely, I decided to give a front knot a try and I think it totally worked. That solo knot does give some drama and shape to an otherwise a regular top, plus it also allows for a glimpse of the jeans that are a high-waist. After all that sartorial drama and no shoes befitting these wide jeans, I was ready to call it a day, but glad these oldies came to my rescue. They pair well, but not enough to my wow me. 
Whatsoever, I still think I did good !!!!! What say ??
