Microsoft miserably failed to deliver the experience they promise for its’ first physical product, Surface tablet. And with the recent launch of much cheaper and better tablets like the new Nexus 7, the Surface is starting to lose its’ place in the current market. With this fact in mind, Microsoft has decided to make yet another price cut to bring their Surface Pro tablet to customer attentions. This time they have made a $100 reduction from the Surface Pro tablets, lowering the price of 64GB model to $799 and 128GB model to $899.
According to Cnet, Microsoft has made $853 million in revenue from its Surface tablets, but that’s not really a profit when considering “the $900 million the company had to pay for Surface RT inventory adjustments” and the $898 million spent on Windows 8 and Surface advertising.
Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer recently admitted that they have made too many Windows devices to sell and they are “not selling as many Windows devices as [they] want to.” Compared to Android and iOS device sales, Microsoft can’t even get close. However, even this discount won’t last long, according to PC Mag it’s only valid this month. So, go and grab a tab if you’re a Windows 8 fan.
