Microsoft seems to be changing the naming of a Windows Phone Marketplace become Windows Phone Store. This change is called the first time when Microsoft launched Windows Phone Dev Center. Some have said that the change was done to simplify the image of Windows Phones and Windows 8.Windows 8, you can access Windows applications through Windows 8 Store Style. A page on the Windows Phone Dev Center called it several times.
'The new Windows Phone Dev Center has everything you need to create great apps and add them to the Windows Phone Store for the world to see, try, and buy. You can start creating apps anytime. When you re ready to offer them in the Store, you'll need a subscription to the Dev Center where you can start the process of adding them to the Store catalog. '
Until this writing, Microsoft has not gave the official confirmation about it. Windows Phone Marketplace actually first introduced at the launch of the Microsoft Windows Phone 7 in October 2010. origin source  The Verge
