Last year, the Real Housewives of DC star Tareq Salahi reported his wife Michaele missing and kidnapped. It was soon revealed that the blonde had eloped off with her ‘friend’ of many years and rock band Journey guitarist, Neal Schon.
Michaele Salahi, who once walked into a White House party uninvited, is ready to walk down the aisle and exchange wedding bands and vows for the second time after ditching her husband Tareq Salahi.
Schon popped the question to Salahi on stage Sunday night as Journey performed its hit song, ‘Faithfully,’ at a charity event for the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center.
Schon invited the one-time White House party crasher on stage as the band played the song and proposed to her. The proposal was apparently a complete surprise to Salahi. The former ‘Real Housewives of D.C.’ star broke down in tears and jumped up and down while accepting the proposal.
The couple began officially dating in September 2011, after having been friends and casually dating in the 1990s.
Tareq filed for divorce when Michaele ran off with Schon in 2011. The divorce was finalized earlier this year in August.
Salahi’s former husband, Tareq Salahi, sued Schon, 58, for $50 million earlier this year, alleging the rocker “stole” his wife and consequently ruined various business deals. The lawsuit was eventually settled.
Michaele and then-husband Tareq Salahi gained notoriety when they crashed a White House state dinner in November 2009 dinner in honor of India’s Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
Michaele Salahi, who turned 47 earlier this month, appeared on the Bravo reality television show ‘The Real Housewives of D.C.’ with ex-husband in 2010.
Schon serenaded his now-fiancée on stage during a Journey concert on her 46th birthday, last year.
This will be the second wedding for the White House party crasher and fifth for the rock guitarist. Schon has five children from four failed marriages. His most recent wedding to Amber Kozan lasted for seven years before they divorced in 2008.
