Mi Band 2 With Oled Display, Heart Rate Sensor Launched

Xiaomi has unveiled successor to its highly successful Mi Band,Mi Band 2. The second gen fitness band was sighted a few days back when Lei Jun, Xiaomi’s CEO, wore it at an event in China. The new band from Xiaomi as promised by CEO Jun Lei will go on sale starting June 7 on Mi.com

Mi Band has been one of the highest selling fitness trackers globally and was priced at $13. Mi Band 2 is priced at CNY 149 approx Rs. 1,500 or $23 and comes with an Oled screen, heart rate sensor, ADI accelerometer, Upgraded pedometer algorithm and sleep tracker. It comes with a 70 mAh battery and offers 20 days of standby time. Mi Band 2 features a 0.42-inch Scratch-resistant OLED screen which will show time, steps taken, and heart rate count among others.

Like the first edition, this smart band will also be water resistant with IP67 certifications. For connectivity, it has Bluetooth 4.0 for pairing with phones and is built with skin-friendly thermoplastic elastomers material. It comes in in Black, Blue, Green, and Orange colours.

As per the company it weighs 7 grams and comes with 40.3mm length, a width of 15.7mm, and a side width of 10.5mm. Mi Band 2 will be compatible with devices running on Android 4.4 and above and iOS 7.0 and above. Xiaomi has not revealed any details about its global availability as yet.
