However, the business claims that you may still create a Meta account using a Facebook or Instagram account. If a user creates a Meta account with their social network accounts, they will be linked in the Accounts Center, which serves as the center for all connected Meta experiences.
Despite the company’s preference for consumers to use Meta accounts, Oculus logins will be maintained until January 1, 2023.

In addition to the Meta account, the “Meta Horizon Profile” will take the place of the Oculus account. The profile will serve as the metaverse’s social media platform and will house all avatar-based material. The firm will now refer to “Friends” in the Metaverse as “Followers,” making the Horizon World platform seem similar to Instagram.
Because the internet’s largest firm values privacy, Meta accounts will provide users three options: “Open to Everyone,” “Friends and Family,” and “Solo.” Each of these choices has a distinct impact on who may connect to and see a person’s account. If a user ignores the privacy settings, the “Friends and Family” option is utilized by default. Users will also be able to keep their Horizon profile private, forcing them to accept follower requests.
Accounts for persons aged 13 to 17 are set to private by default. Accounts are now just tied to VR logins, but Meta may add additional functionality in the future.
