The Mercedes-AMG Petronas has cooperated with FTX to release an F1 NFT series to communicate with its fans. As reported by a press release, the Formula One team is partnering with different artists throughout the 2022 race calendar.
While, the initiative will begin at the opening of Miami Grand Prix on May 7th and 8th. In addition, it demands “the thrill of racing on the beach with all-day entertainment and a soundtrack, containing epic headlines that close the show every day.”
The first announcement of the ‘Mercedes-AMG Petronas x NFTs’ concept are free-to-claim ‘Ticket Stubs’ NFTs. Actually, the “Ticket Stubs” are a digital and artistic explanations of the Mercedes F1 race tickets.
Therefore, there will be 2,500 NFT Ticket Stubs NFTs allocated to each race of the season. In addition, the Ticket Stubs NFTs randomly will be given to fans who sign up for the initiative.
Thus, the second NFT series will include 1,000 limited edition Ticket Stubs for free distribution. Mercedes will again distribute these for free at five races through the season’s calendar.
Eventually, the third series have ten unique NFTs. Nevertheless, unlike the initial two series’, you can solely purchase these via an FTX US NFT Marketplace auction.
The NFT artwork shows the cars driven by team drivers Lewis Hamilton and George Russell in the Miami version. Besides, it will contain Mad Dog Jones-designed rear wing plates used on the car on race day.
The NFTs, described by Mercedes F1 as “the initial opportunity to have a piece of both digital and physical motorsport history”, will be auctioned on May 6 on the FTX NFT marketplace.
