Me & My Shadow

By Philmonk

I don’t often get time to spend with Jessica, just on my own. Jo, my wife works from home which saves us a fortune on child care, and weekends are pretty much family time, so at the moment it’s not often we get much daddy/daughter time, something that bugs me slightly, for reasons I will probably go into on another post.

It may seem silly, strange even but I don’t spend that much time with Jessica without my wife being around. This isn’t done on purpose it’s just the way our life is at the moment. So when I do get time on my own with her I like to cram in as much as possible.

Jo had to work over new year which meant that, for a few hours it was just me and Jessica. I decided to cram in as much as possible into about 4 hours. Which was topped off with some time in the park. The park was deserted, we had the place to ourselves and we made the most of running between the swings and the slide for what seemed like about 1oo times.

It was nice that it was just the two of us. Don’t get me wrong, I love doing things as a family, but just spending time with Jessica on my own gave me a chance to connect with her, she followed me everywhere. I carried her on my shoulders, I got compliments about her at our local shop, I was a very proud daddy.
