Loved for being that perfect balance between cheesy and classy, Mayer Hawthorne is a man who certainly knows how to entertain a crowd! His contemporary soul sound filled New York’s Webster Hall in support of his latest record, Where Does This Door Go. The show included a neon lit broken heart that changed colors throughout his set. In addition, his signature wooden owl sat beside his center stage mic and moved it’s head in various directions throughout the night. Dressed in white button down’s and suspenders, his band members took the stage followed by Mayer in a clean cut suit, starting the night off with “Back Seat Lover”. As the energy in the room rose, Hawthorne showed off a few more dance moves and moved into their second song “A Long Time” from How Do You Do. The confidence with which he carries himself on stage is undeniable, and his quirky charm and electronic sound hit all of the right notes amongst the crowd members that night.
