I will admit I was a little deflated with this months box, but like everything, you can't please everyone. There seemed to be less items than previous boxes, and the variety appeared to be lacking. The BBQ sauce that was received was a similar repeat to one received 1 (possibly 2) boxes ago. It's really hard to get through that much BBQ sauce in such a short space of time! (Considering one only had a 2 month expiry date). I understand they were taking into consideration the upcoming bank holiday, but sometimes I think Degusta need to review their previous boxes and ensure they aren't sending out similar repeats because it begins to get tedious.
I also felt it was lacking sweet items. Although the stroopwafels were delicious, I felt like the box could have done with at least 1 more sweeter item.
Green Coco (Coco Juice with banana) - 80p
This wasn't tasty at all.. I hate a few gulps and it had to go in the bin. I've never tried coconut and banana together before but I really didn't think the flavours complimented each other.
Sweet Baby Ray's Honey BBQ Sauce - £2.99
As previously stated, I think I'm stocked up on BBQ sauce for the foreseeable future. I do love BBQ sauce however its not something I get to use often enough.
Sarson's Balsamic Vinegar - £2
This states it will be the perfect for salads or a recipe ingredient. Now the weather is becoming warmer I feel like I will be sampling more salads so I'm sure I will be able to put this to good use.
9 Bar Fruity energy bars - £2
I wasn't too keen on these.. they're good if you're feeling healthy, however they were a little too healthy for me (if that's possible?!). I wasn't keen on all the different types of seeds that made up this energy chocolate coated bar. They're good to pop in your handbag for on the go but I won't be repurchasing these.
Schwartz Marinade in a bag (Honey & Soy) - £2.19
I haven't used this yet but I think this is a little overpriced for a marinade that would accommodate just 1 sitting. They are, however, really good for convenience and quickness.
Daelmans Stroop Wafels - £2
I'm pretty impressed with these - both the taste and their uniqueness of how to eat them (see below photo). The heat from your mug warms the wafel and melts the caramel inside, making it a nice gooey treat. My mug often struggled to melt it (that might be because of my love for milky tea and the fact that it wasn't hot enough!) but I still ate it despite them not being melted. I would repurchase these again...
