In case you missed it, I shared my Dad's almost finished man cave yesterday. I don't post too many projects, so I want to make sure you don't miss this one if you're interested. You can se it here:

Whenever a reader asks me to post about something, I do an image search for examples that are fairly obtainable. In this case, when the reader asked for examples of rooms for grown boys, I ran into problems because there just aren't that many that aren't completely over the top. So, a lot of these are clearly not attainable, but they are a starting point.
The way I see it is when changing a boy's room from a tween or teen room to an adult version, you can go a couple of ways. You can make it a totally neutral beige or light gray room, like I did with our guest room. But I think for my children at least, when they come home I want the room to still feel to them like it is theirs, so I won't go that route. Instead, I'd update the colors (less bold greens and blues and oranges, for example). Many of the examples below show black walls, which I love. And them many show white, which I also love! You could also do a more neutral blue than what is found in a typical boy's room, or gray of course.  Here are some that I like on all ends of the spectrum:

This one would be costly to replicate, but of course it is one of my favorites:

I love this one, and think this could be done pretty easily:

Not many can do this because of the size of this room, but isn't it awesome?

Another fairly easy one to replicate:

I really love this one, too:
