With all the changes to Google search, marketing for website traffic can be confusing, difficult and very time-consuming.
The last 3 recent Google changes – Panda, Penguin and Hummingbird updates – left many marketers are wondering how to increase traffic to their website. Keywords, the words that people type into the search engine to find your website, are the beginning of the search and conversion marketing process.
So how do you figure out which keywords will help to improve traffic to your website?
John Jantsch of Duct Tape Marketing wrote a handy post on 8 Alternatives to Google Keyword Tool that will help you with your marketing for website traffic. Here’s an excerpt:

After you determine a keyword phrase, each page of your website needs to be focused on just one phrase (I know, this all takes time!!)
If this list seems overwhelming, try starting with just one: I like the Yoast WordPress Seo Plug-in because it uses Red, Yellow and Green stoplight colors to let you know how you’re doing with the SEO for a keyword phrase.
If you use WordPress for your website, consider installing the plug-in. I like it because it not only tells you what is working and what is missing, it tells you how to fix it! To me, knowing what to do is more than half the battle!
