Metaverse stores becoming more popular

Before 2021, the concept of a “Metaverse store” was probably the realm of science fiction, but since interest in the fledgling technology has increased, more Metaverse stores are springing up. Here are three stories covered that involve Metaverse stores or futuristic retail stores which use Metaverse technology.

• Last week, the organization behind the well-known blockchain Solana opened a physical store in Manhattan, NY. Billing itself as the initial Web3-dedicated retail and educational store, the store will provide physical IRL goods plus introducing people to the Solana blockchain.

• Last month, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, revealed the opening of a virtual metaverse clothing store. Users who visit the store can purchase clothes to outfit their avatars, and the store is available via Meta’s suite of apps: Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger.

• Five months ago, Sketchers beat both of those companies to the punch when they shared plans for a sneaker store in metaverse Decentraland. The sneaker company stated that at the time, it was waiting to connect with customers in new ways and delivering a new experience from Sketchers.

Designed in Barcelona, the Mango Masquespacio teenager store is an appealing twist for the retail industry, that is looking to target younger age groups with increasing purchasing power. Also, as other stories have shown, the Metaverse is also up to innovation, that could lead to some exciting things in the future.
