Today, I also realised that whatever I go to study for three to four years I need to be incredibly set on it, I also need to make sure I will be absolutely content and happy while studying, that is a main thing for me. I have always been torn between choosing either Costume Design or Fashion Communication and Promotion, my two loves for these subjects are immense. However, I despise making garments, I can do it, but that doesn't mean I enjoy or like it. And doing Costume Design would mean some serious designing and making and I do not at all think I will be happy taking that course for the next four years of my life. When I think hard, I hundred percent know I will be so happy studying Fashion Communication and Promotion; studying PR, event planning, styling, photography, magazine making, journalism. I am in love with the idea of bringing together media and fashion and I definitely think this is my ideal course.
I cannot explain how much this event at Manchester actually helped, you get to go to any stands that interest you, meet with various tutors, and ask questions. Of course, at some points you literally find yourself beyond the point of boredom, I know I was when I was stood listening to a woman speak to my friends about designing and making, but you have to appreciate their enthusiasm for their course. And of course, you come home with at least seven bags full of prospectuses.
