I’m all about easy meals these days… with moving, and being crazy stressed out… not too mention having a crazy toddler running around… I need fast easy recipes, that are somewhat healthy that my husband and daughter will still eat. That is why I love Trader Joes pre made pizza dough. Seriously makes the best pizza.. and you can through anything on it you like! See other pizza post I did here.
What you will Need:
- Pizza dough, homemade or store-bought: I love Trader Joes Premade Wheat Dough
- 1-2 T Olive Oil
- All-purpose flour, for dusting
- 3 small tomatoes chopped {great with heirloom tomatoes}
- Fresh basil leaves
- Fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
- Sea Salt and Garlic Pepper to taste
- Cornmeal, for stone
- Special equipment: Pizza stone
Directions
Place a pizza stone in the oven. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F, allowing the stone to get hot.
Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface into approximately an 8 to 10-inch round and 1/4-inch thick. Spread olive oil on to dough, season with salt and pepper, {seriously do not cut out the olive oil… results are to die for!} Top with the tomatoes, some basil leaves and mozzarella rounds.
Carefully remove the pizza stone from the oven, and dust with the cornmeal. Place the pizza on top of the stone and pop the whole thing in the oven. Bake until crust is golden and the cheese has melted, about 10-20 minutes depending on the dough and oven.
Cut into wedges and serve immediately.
