More and more we're seeing a growing trend of the "off the rocker" resume. These resumes are becoming more and more common and employers are becoming more and more accepting of them. Resumes need to be condensed, efficient, and communicate to your employer that you're the right person for the job. I've seen some resumes that are watercolored, glittered, and all of that jazz. Those are a little much and may lead the company to think that you're frivolous and not serious about the work they expect you to do. To create a popping resume that doesn't over do the color and still communicates professionalism, stick to three main colors. For me, I chose grey, white, and a mustard yellow to pop but still have a classic edge. On the left hand column, I communicated my skills and on the right hand side sits my profile (or reason for applying for said job) and column/columns of experience. The resume is laid out in a fashion that is easy for the employer to read, easy to understand, and does not leave the employer/ interviewer flipping multiple pages to find out what jobs you worked in high school.
Pro Tip: If you worked jobs in high school in college that are less important, leave those as one or two lines, the time frame, job title, and location and for the second the important skills such as customer service and computer knowledge. Remember to keep the resume simple with three key colors, two being a more neutral and one that pops. **I used photoshop to create my resume** For resume and media kit services email me at breckclare@gmail.com.xoBCC
