Make Desert Island Discs Playlists and 4 Other Things to Do Today

By Djridings @fivethingsnow

Here are today’s 5 things to do today.

1. Make playlists using choices made on Desert Island Discs. All too often we are trapped by music played on the radio and music that we hear and is publicised on the radio. Making CD’s to listen in the car as chosen by celebrities and powerful people on the BBC’s Desert Island Discs is a good way of broadening your horizon’s. You can listen to a podcast of the programmes or see music selections by looking at the website. Just search through the weeks or search for a celebrity that might have been broadcast. Very old episodes are also available and it is interesting to catch up with people you may have grown up. A perfect alternative to Christmas television!

2. Buy three e-books written by Leo Babauta, author of the popular blog, Zen Habits. This is your last chance to buy The Zen Habits Handbook of Life, The Simple Guide to a Minimalist Life and The Little Guide to Un-Procrastination. They will soon be taken off the shelves before a new book called Zen Habits is written.

3. Learn to read faster. At work and for pleasure reading things at a faster rate than you normally would is sometimes useful. There is much information about speed reading  and how to learn online. Take this Staples Speed Reading Test to start you off.

 4. Find out where Santa is at this moment? Well he’s not set off at the moment. Use the NORAD Santa Tracker on Christmas Eve to see where he might be. He could be closer than you think! Here you can watch the path that Santa takes across the Earth delivering you your presents.

5. Go to Marks and Spencer’s and buy their festive food. Here is a meal for six ordered via the Marks and Spencer’s Christmas Food ordering service. It’s too late for this year!
