Magisterium

Magisterium is a Melodic Death Metal band from Omsk, Russia. After publishing a couple of demos and some other recorded live by Russian lands, we place ourselves in the year 2005, year in which it appears their EP Black Rain, which contains seven songs quite recommendable for the lovers of the genre.

This is a recording with a good sound and production, and that contains powerful and aggressive guitar riffs, a guttural voice that stands out and melodies clean but with force which give freshness to each of the songs.

In this EP we can highlight songs such as “Prophecy”, “Black rain” or “Rider” that you have a pace closer to the thrash metal but staying in the same line That the other songs that contains the recording.

I must clarify that this EP, in spite of having the titles in English, all the songs are sung in Russian, and the topics are war, death and destruction.

It was truly remarkable the musical evolution that suffers Magisterium in 2010 with the publication of his next EP entitled Children Of War. This new release of the band contains four songs and incorporates keyboards to their aggressive sound and also female voices, which alternate with the usual guttural voice, complementing and proving to be a sound in general with more freshness and dynamism but with the power and aggressiveness that characterizes to Magisterium.

Among the songs on this EP can be highlighted “Seeing Reality … (In Memory Of John Lennon” or Children Of War”, although to me personally the most I like of the four is “Prometheus”.

Little more can be said by the time of Magisterium, I recommend that you simply listen and let your comments.
