People always ask me what my favorite franchise of the Housewives is and my answer is "Beverly Hills". Why? Because of the opulence, luxury and their over-the-top lifestyle. You almost can't believe that people really have that much money that private jets, having a moat in front of your estate with swans swimming in it and prancing mini-ponies in the backyard exists. Yet, there it is. And it's their normal. I have a feeling that Emmitt and Pat Smith had that same feeling when they attended the 25th wedding anniversary celebration of Magic and Cookie Johnson. And boy, did they celebrate in dazzling Hollywood style.
The Johnson's chartered 3 yachts to sail guests (about 25 couples) along the French Riviera, stopping in fabulous ports like Monaco, Nice, Venice, and Antibes. Guests included the couple's adult children Elisa and E.J. Johnson, Smokey Robinson, Steve Harvey, Tina Knowles (a.k.a Beyonce's Mom), Samuel L. Jackson, Sugar Ray Leonard, Holly Robinson Peete, Cedric The Entertainer, LL Cool J, Star Jones, and Bill Bellemy, just to name a few! Did you know that the Royal family isn't allowed to fly together on one plane? The logic is so that if the plane goes down, the entire Monarchy isn't wiped out. Well, I'm guessing that this is why Magic and Cookie chartered 3 yachts. Because if one of them had sunk, the entire African-American entertainment community wouldn't been at the bottom of the French Riviera! LOL.
Emmitt told me that this was "the trip of a lifetime" and after seeing al of the photos on social media, I believe him! He said that one of the highlights was a party at Jimmy'z in Monte Carlo. Magic has Cirque du Soleil-like performers and one of the girls came down from the ceiling on a trapeze sort of contraption and as she twirled down, she handed Cookie a jewelry box. When Cookie opened the box - BAM! - there was a 25-carat diamond ring from her husband to commemorate their 25th wedding anniversary (see photo and video below). I said to Emmitt, "Now that Pat has seen that spectacle what are you going to do when your 25th anniversary rolls around?" #22 just laughed and said shaking his head, "I told her, Baby, I have all of that in my heart to give you but..." You better get to thinking Emmitt. The bar has been set. And it's high! Congrats to Magic and Cookie and thank you to Pat & Emmitt for letting us live vicariously through their social media channels!
