Mad, Exciting, Colourful and Painty Engagement Shoot

By Claire

There’s a thin line between being creative and ever so slightly mad, and David and Rachel are right on that line… in fact they’re dancing along the line, happily making the most amazing pre wedding shoot with photographer Lucy West. And I love them to bits – this is inspiring, hilarious, gorgeous and thrilling.

David and Rachel are all about romance and playfulness. This photo is really sweet – and I love Rachel’s cheeky smile too. Definitely a couple who have a lot of fun together!

If like my Star Bride Sally you’re wondering whether to have an engagement shoot, then look at these photos and imagine what a memorable and crazy day out you could have…

Heee! Love these cheeky photos…

Rachel’s nails hint at the colour explosion that’s about to hit…

Did I mention what a stunning couple they make? Model material, the pair of them!

They chose what photographer Lucy West describes as “a smelly, muddy old warehouse where the ceiling is pretty much collapsing on your head” for the shoot.

… probably a wise move – the textures make for gorgeous photos, and well – you can’t do this kind of thing in a stately home or on an urban photo shoot. Keep reading…

Sweet and romantic photos – peeking through a hole in the wall.

And then it all goes crazy – I’ve never seen a couple so up for it on an engagement shoot! I love this.

Love it love it love it…

Sorry mum, he started it…

And the writing on the wall is great…

If the marketing guys at Daz are watching, bet you can’t get this lot out.

Luckily at the end of the shoot Rachel had a little bit of pink left. It would have been a shame to waste it so…

… David got to wear it home.

Fabulously creative or what?! I can’t wait to see Rachel and David’s wedding, which promises to be another blast of colour (but with a little less paint).

Thanks to Lucy West for sharing this shoot with us on English Wedding. Lucy is a wedding photographer from Greater Manchester – for more information about her please visit Lucy West Images.

I had to ask how Rachel and David got home. Luckily they had a couple of plastic sheets for the shoot, just in case. They were placed carefully in the car and our beautifully bonkers couple drove home, all painty.
