There was a time you had so many different artists coming at you in so many different ways with real lyrics and amazing wordplay that you had to think about. I think nowadays Hip Hop and R&B has gotten to a place where it’s “oversexualised” or it’s not necessarily about wordplay anymore. It’s about how many bottles you’re popping in the club and sometimes it’s not even about telling the truth.[source]
