Lynn Whitfield Calls Scene With Father On Greenleaf A “Healing” Story

Lynn Whitfield who plays Lady Mae on Greenleaf, talked to  the Tom Joyner Morning Show about “that” scene, where she kissed  her father in the mouth, and had all of us screaming,”noooooooooo!” at our TV’s when we realized that Lady Mae and her daddy had an illicit relationship in the past.

“I said that maybe this could be a healing story. So many complex relationships happen. We did that scene different ways. Bill and I took a leap and Oprah said, yes! It was really kind of deep. It’s unknown territory and the exploration of it is kind of important. We were brave about that,” Whitfield said.
