Lynn Anderson, “I Never Promised You a Rose Garden”

Great country music! It’s hard to believe this is even country, it’s so damn good. I don’t even like country music, but I think this goes to show you that despite all of the bickering and stone-tossing and worse between genres, there’s really only one kind of music:

Good music

And it transcends all genders. Hell, I’ve heard some great elevator music in my time. Faddists, get lost! Your head is in the sand and you don’t have a clue!

Lynn Anderson from 1969! Great music from nearly half a century ago, 48 years ago to be exact. Gotta dig those 60’s haircuts and outfits. Along with everything else, it tells the simple truth about love and too many are too defensive to acknowledge.

No pain, no gain. If you want the highs, you’ve go to buy the lows at the same time: it’s a package deal. That’s just the way it is. You don’t like it, you can check out anytime you like. You can’t fight the Truths of life. Mother Nature always bats last, and dreamers all die alone.

Live dangerously!

PS. Lynn Anderson RIP. Sorry about that, Lynn.
