There was a festival atmosphere from the start, music was playing loud, stalls were set up ready for action and the public began filtering in as the drizzling rain stopped. As the afternoon went on the weather got better, by mid-afternoon the sun was in full force as were the locals who were out enjoying the free festival.
The festival covered a sizeable section of the area, from the park where a stage built hosted music and dancing, the farm opened up its petty zoo and a car park used for a car boot sale where alsorts of bits and bobs were on offer, not to mention the wide variety of stalls, bags to all kinds of food, there was something for everybody.
The Beaumont Bags stall was constantly surrounded by interested folk, some purchased, others just wanted to sniff and stroke, either way it felt like a successful day for bagging but also for the community of Heeley who all helped to contribute towards a vibrant afternoon of entertainment in the sunshine as several thousand people turned out for the annual event.
