Organizations use NFTs to grow money for good causes
NFTs have many uses, from collectibles to gaming. But probably one thing that pays off even more during a crypto bear market, is using the technology to raise money for good causes. Below are three tittles covered that show organizations and individuals using NFTs for repayment.
The initial story comes from Oklahoma City, where some zookeepers first used it. They created an NFT series with a real orangutan as the artist. To achieve this, zookeepers gave the orangutan, Elok, a brush and screen. When Elok moved the brush, the screen followed the movement and created the art. The earnings go to organizations which help wild orangutans and preserve their habitat.
The second story comes from the Middle East. There, Nestlé lately introduced the TRIX cereal line for the initial time in the region. To celebrate, the company created two “TRIX” snow globe NFTs and put them up for auction on OpenSea. All earnings went to the Emirates Red Crescent charity, that serves the region.
The last story comes from the US. Over the summer, rapper Ja Rule released an NFT series named “Black is Beautiful.” He gave $25,000 of the proceeds from NFT sales to five historically black colleges and universities.
Vera Bradley may be making its Web3 debut, but it’s currently in good company, raising money for good causes.
