Lucas Bantner never expected to go the route of a novelist. His childhood was filled with the delusions of grandeur so common in children, fantasizing about future lives filled with astronauts and cowboys and bandits and millionaires. His teenaged years were spent locked in his room, growing antisocial while playing bass along to Primus albums. His adult (if you can even call it that) life ranged from a part time job at a full-service gas station to full time work in software development to earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in music.
He is 30 years old, lives in Santa Cruz, CA, and is currently wondering what the hell to do with his life.
Lucas is an author born from insomnia. Rather than lie quietly and wonder why sleep escapes him so, he decided to get up and write down some of those ideas fluttering through his brain. His debut novel, Tourist, was written almost exclusively between the hours of 11PM and 3AM, Pacific Standard (or Daylight) Time. He currently has no plans to change this writing schedule.
