This time, I am reviewing the Lowepro Tahoe BP 150 Camera Bag. I am using this Lowepro camera backpack for the past four years.

Lowepro Tahoe BP 150 Camera Bag Review

What Fits In?

The most important part to check is what all camera gears you can fit inside this Lowepro Tahoe BP 150 camera bag? So. Let us have a look at the main camera compartment section.

You can easily fit two camera bodies and four lenses in this compartment.

If you are using a camera battery grip along with your body or if you have a bigger camera body like the Canon 1DX Mark ii, then you need to keep it in a horizontal position. You cannot keep the camera body connected to the lens in this condition.

You can keep it connected to the lens only if you are using camera bodies like Canon EOS 7D Mark ii, Canon 5D Mark ii or any mirrorless camera bodies.

If you are carrying an external camera flash, then you can carry two bodies and lenses or one body and three lenses along with it.

You can also carry a drone like DJI Mavic Air or Pro and a DSLR camera with couple of lenses and flash in Tahoe BP 150. So, it is useful for drone photographers too.

Lowepro Tahoe BP 150 comes with five completely detachable bag compartment separators. It allows you to customize your bag organization. The sufficient padding in the spacers ensures that your camera accessories are safe inside this camera bag.

Another exciting feature of this camera bag is the one side detachable zipper compartment in the top. Usually, such compartments are either fully removable as a pouch or a non-detachable one.

But here, the design is done in such a way that you can pull up the bottom part using the orange notch. So, if you want to get the full space of the camera compartment section, then you can use this feature.

You can also use this zipper pouch to carry your camera battery charger and camera cleaning stuff.

You can also find a small pocket on the opposite side of the camera compartment to keep the memory card. This section is marked as “32GB”. I really don’t know why they have kept the writing as 32 GB, maybe because of the commonly available memory card size.

You can keep two or three SD cards in this pouch. If you are using a bigger memory card like a CF card, then it will fit only one.

There is an additional level of protection in the form of two buckle locks on either side. So, after closing the camera compartment zip, you can use the buckle locks for additional security.

Exterior Mesh Pockets

Lowepro Tahoe BP 150 camera bag come with two mesh pockets on either sides.

So, you can use it to keep water bottles.

You can use one pocket to keep a water bottle and other pocket to keep small travel tripods or a Gorillapod. If you are planning to keep a tripod, then make use of the compression strap on either side to secure it.

Exterior Zipper Pockets

There is a small exterior compartment where you can keep your wallet, phone, id cards, or passports. It is a quick access part in this camera bag.

The other zipper compartment is between the compartment mentioned above and the actual camera gear compartment. This section has more pockets and options.

If you are using a Tablet or IPad, then they have provided a section for it. Here, they have designed the pocket in such a way that even if you drop the camera bag, then the impact on the tablet is very minimal. It is because the bottom part of the tablet pocket is not touching the base of the camera bag. It is kept some distance away from it. I really liked this design.

There are other small pockets for keeping pens, cards, and other accessories. You can keep your camera chargers and camera cleaning kit in this section. There is also a key hanger to hold your keys safely.

Lowepro Tahoe BP 150 Camera Bag Color Options

I know there are many photographers out there who are not looking for a black camera bag, which is the most common one. Lowepro Tahoe BP 150 comes in four colors: Black, Red, Blue, and Camo.

So, if you are a wildlife photographer, then you will definitely like this Camo color.

What I Didn’t Like

Even though there are many things which make any photographer opt for this camera bag, I would like to share some features which I wished this camera bag had.

1. Rain Cover

They could have added a rain cover which can be quickly accessed from outside. Many of the other Lowepro camera bags come with this feature.

2. Height Restriction

If you have a bigger DSLR like a Canon 1DX Mark ii, then you cannot keep the camera body connected to the lens because of the height restriction. You need to keep the bigger camera body in a horizontal position.

Conclusion

For a price of $69.95, it is one of the best camera bag options for any photographer. It is very compact and easy to carry. It comes with customizable paddings and a good number of pockets. So, it satisfies most of the photographer needs.

It weighs around 0.8kg and has an internal dimension of 25.2 x 12.8 x 36 cm. Lowepro has designed this camera back in such a way that it suits all types of photographers.

There is nice padding on the back of the backpack, which makes it comfortable to wear and walk, especially while trekking.

I carry two camera bags on my trip. Lowepro Tahoe BP 150 camera bag is my second camera bag. I take it along with me for my hikes, where I carry a few small lenses and a camera body in this backpack. I will be carrying my main camera along with the super telephoto lens on my shoulders.
