Here are all the ingredients you will need:
- One pound of medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
- One teaspoon fresh ginger, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- Dash of white pepper
- 1/2 cup of water
- One tablespoon of rice wine (mirin)
- Two teaspoons soy sauce, low sodium
- 1 1/2 teaspoons of cornstarch
- One teaspoon of sugar
- One teaspoon of sesame oil, dark
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic chili paste
- One tablespoon of canola oil
- One cup of onion, vertically sliced
- Four minced garlic cloves
- One cup celery, diagonally cut

- Get a medium sized bowl and place the shrimp in it. Next, sprinkle the ginger, pepper, and salt and toss until mixed well together with the shrimp and coats it evenly. Let it stand for about five minutes.
- Take a small mixing bowl and combine together the 1/2 cup of water and the rest of the ingredients through the chili paste. Stir everything together with a whisk or alternative.
- Heat one teaspoon of canola oil in a medium skillet on medium to high heat. Now add in the shrimp and begin to stir fry for two minutes. Remove shrimp from the skillet. Put in remaining canola oil and add the onion and garlic and stir fry for one minute. Next add celery and stir fry for another minute. Return the shrimp and stir fry until shrimp is done.
- Add in the water mixture, bring to a boil, and whisk until mixture is thick or about one minute.
