Loving Our Spouses as Much as Our Children

By Thepracticalmommy2 @PracticalMommy2
It's officially February, the month of 'love', the month when suddenly it occurs to us that we need to show our spouses/significant others how much we love them.
Why not tell them every day?
Humans are busy people. We work, we play, we shop, we cook, we clean, we attend meetings, we go to school...etc., etc., etc...When we become parents, especially parents of young children, we have even more responsibilities, and we often find that our romantic love life with our spouse/significant other is on the back burner. When do you have the time to even look at each other?
Just as we tell our children often how much we love them, we need to tell our spouses how much we love them. Say it randomly. Say it often. Say it at least three times a day, whether it be verbally or via the good ol' text message.
Here's one way I tell my husband of my love for him: To My Forever Valentine—A Poem Dedicated to the Love of My Life
And don't forget about date nights! You know, those dates when you go out without kids? It may have been a while, but try to have a date night at least once a month. It really helps to just get out by yourselves to strengthen your relationship as a couple.
