Adam + I spent the weekend exploring the city that we live in (well near) - Tampa, Florida.
Saturday night we ventured out to Tampa to hit Whole Foods since we don't have one super close to us. The main reason for going to Whole Foods was to get the ice cream that you see pictured above - Halo Top. Ummm if you haven't tried it GET ON IT. It's a protein ice cream that has the consistency of actual ice cream and it is heaven. I got birthday cake flavor (it has sprinkles in it you guys) and Adam got strawberry - both were DELICIOUS. We each got our pint and went to the top of a parking garage downtown to watch the sun go down and enjoy our "nice" cream.
We've been trying to be more diligent about saving money (aka actually recreating our budget and sticking to it) since I've started back in school. This means that we have to get a little bit more creative with our date nights...which honestly doesn't bother me one bit! I love doing things like watching the sun go down on top of a parking garage. Way better than going to see a movie or whatever if you ask me.
Lately biking has been our go to date of choice. We rent bikes in Downtown Tampa and bike all around the city looking at cute houses, restaurants, and coffee shops. Turns out we have been doing this 1-3 days per week and we decided that it was in our best interest to just invest in our own bikes rather than renting them every time:
Isn't she a beauty?! I love!
I say "we" decided to invest but let's be honest...my sweet Grandma decided to invest, ha! She told me that she wanted to buy Adam and I bikes since we are always going biking together. She really is the sweetest lady I know. I don't care that I'm 26 years old and my Grandma still treats me like a little girl - I will always be her little girl (and always appreciate the perks that come along with that). Thanks, Grandma!
Anyway, we dream of living in the city while I am in grad school (next August if everything goes according to plan...ah!) and really just soaking in all that Tampa has to offer. We currently live in a smaller town outside of Tampa, and it takes us 30-35 minutes to get there. Living right there in the center of where all of the activities go down just seems like it would be such a fulfilling experience for this stage of our lives. We seriously drive to Tampa 2-3 times a week to do things so we feel like we might as well take the leap and move there...we shall see if that actually happens!
Do you love the city that you live in? I adore Tampa and finding all of the nooks and crannies that make it the place that it is.
