Love For Indian Cotton

By Tanvi Rastogi @tanviidotcom

I love cotton. To be specific: Indian cotton. I know I have said this before, but like all good things, this needs to be repeated - Indian cotton is the best. There is something about the fabric that cools me down and makes me feel comfortable no matter what the temperature.

Here's a random fact: The origins of cotton production and use go back to ancient times. The first evidence of cotton use was found in India and Pakistan, and dates from about 6,000 B.C. Scientists believe that cotton was first cultivated in the Indus delta.

I always stock up on my summer wear whenever I visit India. Dresses, Maxis, Tunics and Kaftans - all my summer and/or beach essentials. One of the shops* that I visit on my each India trip is Fab India. That's where I found this gem. It was love at first sight. I tried it on and it was perfect. Not to loose not too fitted, just the way I like it. I especially loved the sleeves and the subtle embroidery. It was indeed it's simplicity in style that I fell in love with. I cannot wait to wear it over and over again this summer.

*(Other shops are Anokhi, Biba, Global Desi, and Cotton World)
