Teaming up with architect Craig Steely, an industrial designer and a mechanical engineer found just the right design for a striking home on a San Francisco hill. A uniform look certainly can work, but pulling from different eras and styles helps make a house feel like a home. Colorful furniture pairs well with the minimal shelving system and the natural materials around the living room.
Flooring
California black walnut flooring is throughout the two interior spaces while the deck is made from ipe.
Living Room
The room features a coffee table designed by the owners Peter Russell-Clarke and Jan Moolsintong. Complementing the table is a Bottoni sofa for Moooi by Marcel Wanders and a 606 Universal Shelving System by Dieter Rams for Vitsoe hangs on the wall.
Kitchen
Reclaimed cypress cabinets built by Wayne Berger and white Carrara marble countertops installed by New Marble Company pair well in the kitchen.
Deck
On warm nights, the family eats dinner on Eiffel side chairs by Charles and Ray Eames around a table from Room & Board. The doors leading out to the deck are from Quantum Windows and Doors.
