We’re completely wrapped up in this delicate folk track from Lord Huron, “Frozen Pines”. This foursome masterfully marries gentle tones with optimistic, up-tempo rhythms to create a hypnotically sincere blend of pining and reflection. Complemented by the sweet and soothing vocals of Ben Schneider, lyrics drip into one another and fuse into soft and washed-out dreamy warmth. The band’s music presents itself in a nearly surreal way — heavy in darkness and absorbingly lulling. Matched by the persistent and gradual surge of ethereal guitar and drumming, Lord Huron brings out twinges of longing through the most calm and comforting tones feasible. “Frozen Pines” is the 10th track on Strange Trails, their second full-length album released April 6.
