Looking Back On The Lord Of The Rings

By Robert Bruce @robertbruce76

Oh, you thought I was done?

Well, I’m almost finished talking about The Lord of the Rings…after today.

I reviewed the book last week and have moved on to The Sportswriter. But before I officially kick off blog posts about The Sportswriter tomorrow, I thought I’d take a look back at all the posts about The Lord of the Rings.

So here’s a quick rundown if you missed anything:

Next Up: The Lord of the Rings: My basic preview with a few basic facts about LOTR and Tokien.

The Lord of the Rings Covers: A Brief History: My favorite one is the Chinese version.

One Ring To Rule Them All: The poem that explains it all (kind of).

Bling it Up with Tolkien’s Handwriting: Cool jewelry based on Tolkien’s handwriting.

The 9 Best Lord of the Rings Memes: This is as BuzzFeed as I can get.

“There’s a lady who’s sure all that glitters is gold”: Did you realize how many songs have been written inspired by LOTR? Here are just a few.

The Lord of the Rings Journey Animated: This is some cool stuff. Check out what this guy did with a Lord of the Rings map.

My Favorite Passage from The Fellowship of the Ring: It’ll make you cry…not really.

10 Facts You Don’t Know About The Lord of the Rings: That’s a presumptious title, I know. I bet you at least didn’t know 7.

A Game of Thrones Can Suck It: A guest post from my friend about the comparisons between LOTR and GOT.

10 Amazing Lord of the Rings Tattoos: Some of these creep me out. Check out the Gollum one.

The Tolkien-Lewis Friendship Hits the Big Screen: I’ll be watching.

Here’s Minis Tirith, Made out of Toothpicks: Because, why not?

Samwise’s Stirring Speech: It’ll make you cry…maybe.

Tolkien’s Tips for Writing Complex Heroes: This is really good stuff if you’re a novelist.

Tolkien In His Own Words: A little info about an older BBC documentary about the author.

Stephen Colbert is a LOTR Fanboy: More like obsessed with LOTR. He’s amazing.

“Well I’m back, he said”: A quick look at the closing lines of LOTR.

Book #72: The Lord of the Rings: My review. I loved it—the novel, not my review.

Reading and writing about the novel has been a lot of fun. I hate to see the fun end, but it’s time to move on to the next novel.
