Look for the Gems

You must have long-range goals to keep you from being frustrated by short-range failures. ~Charles C. Noble

What a great reminder that there is a place we want to get to and each step, each mile, even each inch is moving us there – however sometimes we encounter an obstacle, a bump or boulder which is short range though sometimes they feel huge.

In the past if I had what I considered a failure – easy example with weight release – if I was set not to eat sweets, and let’s say and I gobbled a bite of cake – so then in my disappointment I thought, “why not eat it all then?” and really wallowed in the fall – I felt quite a bit of self loathing. All of it was a choice.

Now I know that one bite of cake is not going to derail me – it’s simply a short-range issue which will only affect me if I choose to repeat it too often.

Your life is created by lots of little things – remember how important they are and yet they are the pebbles and gems and sometimes stick and stones of the path.

Focus on the gems in your day and make their sparkle so bright you miss the stones and obstacles!

You create your day by the way you think – Make it magnificent!

Blessings, Shawna
