The Stockton Field Aviation Museum flew this rare Lockheed warbird up to the Grass Valley Airshow. The US Navy ordered a major redesign of the Lockheed Ventura medium bomber, entering service in 1943 as the PV-2 Harpoon. Due to various technical issues, the first versions delivered were the PV-2D, which had eight forward-firing .50 cal machine guns for ground attack. Delivered in September 1945, this aircraft was the third to the last PV-2 Harpoon built. This Harpoon was sold surplus in August 1959 for $3678.89 with a total of 7.0 flight hours. Of the 1535 Lockheed Ventura/Harpoons built during WWII, there are only 3 flying examples. Nikon D7100 w/18-200mm.
