A closeup of Thunderbird Number 3 on the flight line during the 2011 Andrews AFB Joint Services Open House. The team transitioned to the F-16A Fighting Falcon in 1983, and upgraded to the F-16C in 1992. The F-16 has been their aerial demonstration aircraft for the Thunderbirds for over 30 years and is their ninth aircraft type since the team was formed in 1953. Nikon D300 w/300mm.
