By Pamelascott

This sequence of poems takes as its subject the stretch of North Sea coast from Redcar to Seaham weaving in landscape, environment, present lives and pieces of history into its elegiac and lyrical text.

I'd never heard of the poet before I agreed to read this. I liked the title and the premise of the collection. I really enjoyed these poems. The poet uses nature to explore a range of themes. I enjoyed every poem. The poet uses powerful imagery to bring the words and ideas to life. There are a few photos scattered throughout the collection which add meaning and depth to the words. My only bug bear is that the poems don't have a title. This is my personal taste and doesn't retract from the enjoyment of power of the poems.
