Living the Dream's Travel-Inspired Christmas Tree

By Livingthedreamrtw @livingdreamrtw

What happens when you spend a year-and-a-half traveling around the world, collecting a bunch of cheap knickknacks along the way?  If your collection is anything like ours, there is really only one reason for it: Christmas!
We spent a good portion of our time shopping around the world seeking out unique and kitschy items to build one of the most incredible travel inspired Christmas trees ever.  With 38 countries visited, and one ornament per country, you can imagine that we were very excited to put up our tree this Christmas now that we are finally home.
With that, we'd like to share our travel inspired Christmas tree with you in this holiday themed post!

Tamale is happy in her new home, but missing the warmth of Mexico.

Even though my moai statues were stolen in Peru, we still had our moai santa ornament!  I'm so glad this one wasn't lost as the only place we found it at was at the gift shop at the airport as we were leaving.

Cow bell from Switzerland, traditional dancing figures from Croatia, and our plastic rickshaw from India

The plastic rickshaw from India, mini beer stein from Oktoberfest in Munich (sad, I know), and a Panama hat from Ecuador

The mini alpaca we rode in the salt flats of Bolivia as well as the 1 Euro Eiffel Tower from Paris.

Boobies and Hungarian Peppers, why not?

This monk is actually a salt shaker found in Italy, but he may be my favorite ornament.

Or maybe this mate cup from Argentina is my favorite.

Spin the prayer wheel from Nepal!

Ecuadorian Panama hat, Bulgarian bell, and a tiny ship from Montenegro (with country map!)

We thank you for reading Living the Dream and hope you have a wonderful holiday season!  We'll be back after the holiday season with a fresh new look and a few new surprises!
