LITTLE THINGS THAT SPARK JOY - Style Swap Tuesdays

By Saumya Shiohare @myriadmusings1
Sometimes, there are little things that can turn a bad day around, which even bigger events can fail to  do. I am the kind of person who tries to find happiness in everyday things- no matter how big or small they are. The other day I was talking to my niece about what she would miss the most when she moves back to India next month. I was stoked by all the little things she remembered and all those series of events and moments that were irrelevant to others, but meant so much to her.
Likewise, little things/ happenings that mean nothing to you, might mean a lot to others. They might spark some good memory or a thought that is exhilarating. For me things that ignite slightest of   happiness mean a lot and being able to share them with you will bring me even more joy- sharing is caring after all!
1. When you order something expensive online and it goes on sale soon after, there is nothing more exciting when the customer service rep happily honors it and makes the price adjustment. Joy level- super high !!

2. When your daughter returns with an empty lunch box from school and she swears not throwing any food in the garbage, you don't show but you feel so accomplished as a mom.
3. That feeling of waking up to a freshly brewed cup of tea on a weekend, especially when hubs has prepared that for you, is unbeatable.
4. When you have a played a game of life or ludo or snakes and ladders with your family, the joy is immense. Considering our busy schedules, being able to spare time to play board game on a weekday with your kid make you feel victorious.
5. You come home after an evening work party and the sink is empty, courtesy hubs. The sight an empty sink and that of a loaded dishwasher after a long day sparks so much joy.
6. You are waiting in line at the airport to board and the airlines rep makes an announcement for priority boarding for parents with kids under age 12. The thought of by passing the crowd and coming in to empty overhead bins sparks so much joy in me.
7. When you cook Indian dinner and at the end you have just the amount of leftover to last you next day for lunch, the joy quotient is so high.
