Little Italy Farmers Market.

By Momfashionlifestyle @Fashnlifestyle

The Little Italy Mercato is probably one of the best Farmers Markets in San Diego. It is located between Date and India St.  If you are a local or a tourist and you’ve never been it is a MUST! It is such a wonderful way to start your Saturday morning off right. {I love the Hillcrest Farmers Market on Sundays as well!}

We usually get there early {the hours are every Saturday from 8am-2pm}, and then head straight to the Joes on the Nose Coffee Truck…. seriously some amazing coffee. The Aloha Latte is to die for… a Mocha with Macadamia Nut and Coconut, topped with Homemade Coconut Whipped Cream!  {Read their full menu here.}

After we get our caffeine buzz going…. we usually walk the stalls once… looking for the best pastries…. I got a Magic Bar for breakfast… YUP Dessert for breakfast.  It was so awesome I don’t even have a picture because I ate it so fast. Not even sure of the name of the bakery… WHOOPS.

There is always an wide array of fresh organic fruits, veggies, baked breads… grassfed meats… and fish straight from the ocean at this particular San Diego Farmers Market. We used to live in Little Italy and it was seriously like having a farm in your backyard. Now if that’s not “Farm to Table” urban living, I’m not sure what is!

If you don’t come here for the food, come for the cheap fresh flowers… and who doesn’t love flowers? Come on now…. the best way to brighten up your house…and make it “Home Sweet Home”, is with the addition of fresh flowers.

Most of the time there is some sort of live Musician playing, and this time it was Smilin’ Jack, the Accordion Sensation. Who knew accordion music could be awesome? Well I now do. Jack was nice enough to let me snap a photo of him while I was there! Thanks Jack!

When you finish up with the Mercato…. don’t forget to hit up one of the Sidewalk Cafes that line the streets of Little Italy! Most of the restaurants are owned by the same family, and they are all so good!

What I wore:

{Free People Top, Forever 21 Lace Shorts, Boots {Old}, Celine Sunglasses, Kate Spade Bracelets}

As we were leaving I crossed paths with this…. um… Pomeranian… Pimping? The base was so loud, I seriously thought it was a car passing…. and then I looked down to see a Pomeranian driving a sports car, with a custom stereo.

Only in California.

YUP. I am sure going to miss this place after the big move to Connecticut.

Hope you enjoyed our visit to Little Italy’s Farmers Market. Have a Happy Sunday!
