Little Birdy Snowman

By Kathybarbro @KathyBarbro
I’m happy to credit Alyssa at Southgate Anderson High School with this great painting idea. Hers was more a study in a Van Gogh background, but I think it’s perfect as a little crayon resist for my elementary school artists.
1. Use a CD as a template and place a bit off the left side of the paper and trace. Add the hat, scarf, body, face and body of the snowman as shown.
2. Trace all with a black Sharpie. Fill in the eyes, mouth and arm with the marker.
3. Draw swirly lines in the background with a white crayon. Press hard!
4. Paint in all with watercolor paints. My sample was made with Dick Blick Liquid Watercolor paints.
